So Much for May

I'm doing really well at posting something every day as you can see. NOT. I do have something kind of fun to post though.

The other afternoon while driving from work to get the kid, I had a local radio station on, and decided to try to call in when they asked for callers for a game they play every afternoon. I have no idea why I tried to dial in, I never do, but on this day I did, and to my surprise it started to ring on the first try. I figured I was about to get one of those "all circuits are busy now" messages, but the DJ actually answered. So then I am scrambling, saying "hold on, I have to roll the window up and turn the radio down, hang on, HANG ON PLEASE!" He did, fortunately, and I ultimately won the game, and an in-studio meet and greet with country music singer Miranda Lambert the next day. I could bring 1 person of my choosing.

I didn't tell the kid until that morning, and she was SOOOO excited. They taped an interview while we were in the studio which aired the next morning. Miranda also sang a couple of songs, one of which is one of the kid's favorites and so she was dancing around and singing along. Afterwards, she got her picture with Miranda and an autograph. Miranda's guitar player thought the kid was so cute and teased her that she should go out on the road with them for a few days. Unfortunately she then thought she was actually going somewhere because she is still learning what teasing is. Sometimes that is a problem which leads to a fit, but not on this day. She had this cheese smile on her face pretty much the whole day.

OMG When Did it Get to be MAY?

I'm not sure where the time goes anymore. Seems like I just blogged that entry about the doggies and now that was like 6 weeks ago and it is May already. Let's pretend I blogged yesterday and I'll try to drum something up every day in May. No, really.

Let's see. Current goings on. Busy with dog stuff, as usual. Of the fosters I posted about last, I have only Millie left. Remy and Molly got adopted, and Chumley went to another foster home. He got to be a bit...much. I love the boy to pieces but he was SO rowdy with my dogs they didn't like him, and it resulted in him not getting to be out as much as either he or I would have liked. He is doing much better at his new foster home and hopefully will have a forever home soon. Now, I have Millie still, Trinnie, Tramp, and am fostering another Boston for that rescue, Opie. My Bostons come pre-named so leave me alone. I call him Opie Dokie. I'll post pics later.

What else? Got my tax refund on Friday. Putting most of it aside for a trip to lovely Phoenix, Arizona soon. Why am I going to Phoenix, you ask? Well, that is where they decided to send Phillip. You know, the charming BOP who per their own literature claim that they will do their best to place your loved one at least within 500 miles of where they are from. Phoenix isn't even close to the same REGION. BAH. Anyway, he is out of max now and into medium, and it sounds as though it is like a zillion times better for him in every way except us not being able to visit frequently.

The kid is almost done with kindergarten, their last day is May 25 I think. Wow. Where did the school year go? Where does time ever go? Yet there are people who, alternately, think time is dragging, Phillip for one.

Apparently Some Are More Dedicated to Their Blogs Than I...
