Oh hell, the country is in trouble now
I can't say anything else right now. There are just no words.

WTF, Jackson Browne, WTF?
This is the second concert I have attended where you played every song from your new album, but didn't bother to play your most popular and best-loved song ever, The Load Out/Stay. I know I'm not the only one disgrunted about this; the guy behind me kept hollering for you to "PLAY STAY" in a tone suggesting he was at the last concert you played in the Dallas area where you didn't play it. Perhaps last time I can understand it - you opened for Tom Petty and had a limited amount of time - maybe you didn't want to spend 10 minutes of your limited time on 1 song. But THIS time? No excuse! Do I have to google "why doesn't Jackson Browne play Stay at concerts anymore?" or what???

A Sad, Sad Day
Today my foster boxer of 7 months, Spader, will be put down. Almost 2 weeks ago he jumped on one of my other fosters, Gus, and in the course of me trying to separate them, Spader chomped his jaw down hard on my wrist. My right one, of course. Cracked it in 2 places so I'm in a cast for 4 more weeks. Spader of course didn't mean to bite me, he was trying to bite Gus. Such a shame, he is a sweet, fun young boy when no other dogs are around. He wouldn't hurt a person on purpose. Shoot, I trust him to do this:
He just can't be trusted with other dogs. :(
Pray for me. I don't know how I am ever ever going to do this.

This is great!
I got this in an e-mail and it is AWESOME!!!
You gotta love Texans!!!
I have a friend who is president of his homeowners association in the Dallas ,Texas suburbs. They were having a terrible problem with litter near some of his association's homes. The reason according to Wallace (my friend) is that six very large, luxurious new houses are being built right next to their community.
The trash was coming from the Mexican laborers working at the construction sites and included bags from McDonald's, Burger King and 7-11, plus coffee cups, napkins, cigarette butts, coke cans, empty bottles, etc. He went to see the site supervisor and even the general contractor, politely urging them to get their workers not to litter the neighborhood, to no avail. He called the city, county, and police and got no help there either.
So here's what his community did. They organized about twenty folks, named themselves The "Inner Neighborhood Services" group, and arranged to go out at lunch time and "police" the trash themselves. It is what they did while picking up the trash that is so hilarious. They bought navy blue baseball caps and had the initials "INS" embroidered in gold on the caps. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand what they hoped people might mistakenly think the letters really stood for.
After the Inner Neighborhood Services group's first lunch time pickup detail, with all of them wearing their caps and some carrying cameras, 46 out of the total of 68 construction workers did not show up for work the next morning -- and haven't come back yet. It has been ten days now.
The General Contractor, I'm told, is madder than heck, but can't say anything publicly, because he could be busted for hiring illegal aliens. Wallace and his bunch can't be accused of impersonating federal personnel, because they have the official name of the group recorded in their homeowner association minutes, along with a notation about the vote to approve formation of the new subcommittee -- and besides, they informed the INS in advance of their plans and according to Wallace, the INS said basically, "Have at it!"

Part 2.... I guess
I'm too damn tired to bitch today.
But, I'm going to anyway.
Anybody watch Guiding Light? Yeah, me neither, most of the time. I actually TiVo 4 soaps though, the CBS soaps, and there is one that I watch religiously. The others, I'll read the daily updates online and if there is something I want to see then I'll watch. Or I may watch if I run out of other TiVo'd stuff to watch. There hasn't been anything I have wanted to watch on Guiding Light for some time. But nevermind that. THEY KILLED GUS! They freaking killed Gus. I love Gus. Gus is hot. And now he's gone. In protest I am going to, um, continue not watching their soap. Of course as soon as I read online that Gus died, I immediately watched all of the episodes I had TiVo'd. But no more. That's it. After his funeral.
Gus, you had better show up on a cool prime time show, that is all I can say.

Bee-otch-fest!!! Part 1
Ok, I have a few things I need to bitch to someone about and all my usual targets are probably sick of it, so I figured it is time to check in here and get it all off of my chest.
I went out to the garage/laundry area on Saturday morning--er, strike that, I was GOING to, but I opened the door and saw something move, quickly. I jumped, EEEKed, slammed the door and ran away from it, far and fast.
Shit. Shit shit SHIT. That can only mean one thing. Probably a rat. I haven't had occasion to use that word in relation to my living space in some time, and I quite prefer it that way. Now I have to deal with all of that again. This time, at least, I am not going to pay Truly Nolen $600 to set some rat traps for me. I'm going to ask my uncle to do it and plead with him to find out how the little fucker (and possibly some of his friends) got in my garage and fix it. FIX IT, PRETTY PLEASE. Make the rat situation all better. NOW.
I did not go in my garage from Saturday morning until last night and then only because I had to do a load of laundry for today. I sent a dog out there for a few minutes first to at least scare the nasty thing into hiding long enough for me to take care of business.
Oh I so can NOT do rats again.
Let's see, what else to bitch about?
Oh yes. THIS idiot bullshit:
http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/us/2008/03/31/pkg.dog.bridge.ktvx
WHY? WHY WHY WHY? I hate people. Well I hate stupid people who do completely nonsensical, cruel things to innocent beings (be they people or dogs). I hope they catch this guy and throw HIS sorry ass off a bridge.
I have more to bitch about but it's lunch time and I am hungry. Hell I am always hungry, I am doing Weight Watchers. As of today I have lost 16 pounds though, so at least it is working. Sloooooowly, oh ever so slowly, it feels like I have been doing WW forever and it is only 2 months.
More soon.

Greetings from Phoenix!
The kid and I are in Phoenix visiting Phillip. Had a nice visit yesterday and today. Phillip wasn't feeling well yesterday though so we left an hour or so early. He was feeling better today. We have a visit tomorrow before we head home.
Yesterday we were so tired we came back after the visit and took a 4-hour nap and got up in time to go to dinner. Today the kid wanted to go to the mall (of all things) so we did and drove around for awhile. We are going to dinner soon at a place called Oregano's that comes highly recommended by several people.
At the mall today, we saw a familiar face...
So we stopped and said hi and got a picture made, that was fun.
Can someone explain why the strangest things make you want to unexplicably cry? Coincidentally, one of the kid's classmates and his family was on our flight to Phoenix. She went over to say hi and came back saying "Are we sitting in first class? Because they are!" Um, NO, I am afraid not. *sigh* Be glad we are going at all. Sheesh.

So much for 2007
It's been a little while since I've written, as you can see. I am sure my 5 or so readers gave up on me long ago.
I'm not really sure why I'm writing now, as I certainly don't have anything fun to entertain you with. Kid stuff, boxer stuff, the usual stuff is all I have going on. No rat stories or the like, thank God. Knock knock knocking on wood. I was able to contribute a lot of information to our recent boxer group discussion of rats though. Hoo-freaking-ray. There are so many other things out there I would far rather have experience in!
We survived Christmas and the kid's and my birthdays. She turned 7 the end of December had a birthday party at Build-A-Bear Workshop last weekend that she had an awesome time at. I about choked on the bill, but she had a great time and so did her friends, lots of smiles, so that is what matters. I don't have my camera with me or I would post a pic, maybe later. The party lasted forever though, and I'm getting too old to handle that much kid fun at once. I wonder what she will pick next year? I am going to have to make her get a job to help me pay for it.
One of my boxer fosters, Phoebe, is getting adopted tomorrow night. I have had her for 7 months so I am sure she will be happy to get out of the zoo and go to her forever home! I will miss her but will be happy to be minus a boxer, as I currently have 4 boxer fosters in addition to my own boxers and I really need to have less. I am hoping to get another foster adopted soon and keep it at no more than 2 boxer fosters max. I'm not sure why I had Phoebe so long, she is wonderful, but the picture on her web page did not do her justice. I finally took some new pics that they posted last week and suddenly she had meet and greets all over the place and now she is getting adopted. I'm following the others around with the camera until I get cute pics of them like these of Phoebe.
