Sometimes I Really Hate Modern Technology

You know how you can misconstrue things that you read in e-mail or in instant messages? Read an entirely opposite meaning or tone into things people say via those mediums?

Well, you can misconstrue things via text message too. WAY misconstrue.

You used the word that totally makes this problem possible, and that is TONE. The fact that we can't hear tone in a written message leaves it open for ALL kinds of meaning.

I can't tell you how many times I have been on the asshole end of this issue.
